EGU General Assembly 2021, traditionally held each spring in Vienna, Austria, will take place entirely online due to the continuing risks posed by the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting restrictions on international travel. We at ICOS Head Office very much regret yet another missed opportunity to meet our friends and colleagues from the ICOS community. We nevertheless hope we can meet our community members and other EGU members at least virtually during the ICOS organized sessions.
EGU and its conference partner, Copernicus Meetings, have opened the meeting’s call. Abstracts will be accepted until 13 January 2021 at 13:00 CET.
ICOS convened sessions are:
• Integrating sudden and extreme changes in the anthropogenic and biogenic greenhouse gases
• Science in times of crisis: Communications and engagement influencing decision-making
• The Importance of Being Global – Globally coordinated Research Infrastructures to support the UN system
• Demonstrating scientific research across the environmental disciplines: Use cases, challenges and opportunities of interdisciplinarity

Since EGU will be offering a more complete experience in 2021, they will be charging a registration fee, but the cost will be substantially lower than for an in-person annual meeting. Visit the EGU21 website for more practical information.
