ICOS Belgium Network has welcomed a new coordinator, Dr. Bernard Heinesch, to coordinate the work of ICOS Wallonia due to the retirement of ICOS Wallonia Coordinator and a Professor of the University of Liege, Marc Aubinet. ICOS Wallonia consists of three terrestrial observatories across Belgian grasslands, mixed forests and crop areas.
Ahead of his retirement, Prof. Marc Aubinet, a fluxnet scientist since 1997 and an initial member of the Euroflux network, was rewarded with “Outstanding Achievement in Biometeorology Award” for his significant contributions in research and education in applying the eddy-covariance method to atmosphere-biosphere interactions and to the problem of advection, by the American Meteorological Society.
