The 3rd ENVRI week will be taking place in Prague, Czech Republic, from 14 to 18 November 2016.
ENVRI week, organised by the Horizon2020 project ENVRIplus which is coordinated by the ICOS ERIC Head Office in cooperation with the University of Helsinki, is a week dedicated to the European Environmental Research Infrastructures (EnvRIs).
ENVRI week will host number of ENVRIplus project-related sessions organised around ENVRIplus six main themes. In addition, there will be sessions that are reaching out beyond the ENVRIplus consortium, including workshops focusing on cooperation of environmental Research Infrastructures and Copernicus, as well as on communication methods in the environmental sciences.
‘ENVRI meets COPERNICUS Workshop’ will bring the RIs together on 16 and 17 November 2016 to discuss the current status of their interaction with Copernicus – the European Programme for the establishment of a European capacity for Earth Observation. As part of the workshop, ICOS Director General Werner Kutsch will give a presentation on the status of ICOS RI with respect to Copernicus and, in addition, is presenting the FOUNDATIONS project together with the EuroGOOS Secretary General, Glenn Nolan and Project Manager at Copernicus in situ component, Henrik Steen Andersen.
As part of the communication and dissemination theme, ICOS ERIC Communications Coordinator Gorana Jerkovic will hold a presentation titled ‘Creating the RI communication network – opportunities and challenges’ at the workshop on effective communication methods and practices in ENVRI community, organised on Wednesday 16 November.
ICOS RI will also be presented to the attendees during the "PICO" (Presenting Interactive COntent) session which combines oral as well as poster and booth presentations of the 10 environmental RIs, on 16 November.
In addition to the workshops and presentations, the Board of European Environmental Research Infrastructures (BEERi) – an advisory panel consisting of directors or coordinators of the environmental Research Infrastructures – will held its meeting at the forthcoming ENVRI week and ICOS will be presented by DG Werner Kutsch and ICOS Carbon Portal Director Alex Vermeulen.
