The ICOS Carbon Portal and the French-Swedish research project EUROCOM are organising a joint workshop on the generation of elaborated products like carbon flux maps, based on ICOS observations. The workshop's goals are to initiate an intercomparison of European-scale CO2 inversions and to get feedback on how the ICOS Carbon Portal can best support the generation, synthesis and storage of these elaborated products. More specifically for EUROCOM, the objective is to discuss and agree on a common protocol for the intercomparison of European-scale CO2 inversions. Workshop participants are invited you to give a short presentation of the inversion or data assimilation system that is used in their group and how they (intend to) use the ICOS observations for the generation of elaborated products. The workshop will start on Monday, June 20 at 12:30 and finish on Wednesday, June 22 around 13:00 (with the possibility to continue individual discussions in the afternoon). A more detailed agenda will be available soon, but there will be a workshop dinner on Monday evening and an outdoor activity (such as a short hike in a nearby forest or a trip to the beach) on Tuesday evening. The workshop will be without an additional fee, but travel costs and your stay in Lund will be at your own expense. Some limited travel support might be available upon request. Please register though the link provided on this page - if possible before 1st April 2016. The venue of the workshop will be close to the city center. Travel information as well a list of hotels are available at Visit ICOS Carbon Portal. Note that for the hotels in the city centre it might be wise to book as early in advance as possible.
